What if we chose different professions from the ones that we have right now..would life have been better or worse? does following ur heart always leads u to happiness? does it make more sense to do what u want to do rather that what u should do?
Several questions..and varied answers..while majority wud say that u shud always do what ur heart tells u to..so if i were to do that, then where wud i have been today..wud i have been an economist since that was my favorite subject! wud i have been a singer since that was my passion..wud i have been a journalist/lawyer since i always get so affected with the political and social environment..difficult to say..
Our heart tells us to do different things at different points of time..so if we were to follow our heart, it could mean, getting into different things at different walks of life! though that wud be very exiting indeed! but it would also mean a lot of chaos..
Many a times, our heart tells us to do something only because at that point of time, that particular thing seems to be important to us..though with the course of time, it cud well happen that we may find a new interest and move on and no longer have the liking towards the same thing..so following one's heart,takes a lot of conviction & courage coz usually what our heart says, is considered to be impractical by our head..
Also following our heart is a difficult path to take..since it may be a path less traveled..it may so happen that in making our hearts happy, we end up making a whole lot of people unhappy
So finally the eternal question remains open..which way do u go? Should u listen to ur heart or should u listen to ur head, coz more often than not its the head which tells u to be sensible
For many people, its not a relevant issue as to whether they shud listen to their hearts or their heads since their hearts & heads are in line with each other
But for many, its a perennial problem..which way to go..
My take is that in life, nothing happens the way u plan it..u may plan to do what ur heart tells u to..or u may plan to do what ur head tells u do..but u end up doing that, what destiny & circumstances force u to! though it may sound like an escapist's perfect excuse to blame everything on destiny..but the truth is that none of us know what we will end up doing..and no amount of planning for the future is enough to prepare us..we have to go by the flow of life and accept whatever comes our way..though that doesn't mean compromising our happiness in the wake of circumstances & compulsions..but i guess nobody can declare that one should always follow the heart or that one should always follow the head..one should always do what seems to be the best, at that point of time, whether that is as per our heart or as per our head
Life, as they say, never remains the same..it changes just when u are least prepared to accept the change! So instead of making it a heart v/s head issue, its better to say that we are all living a life..and we have to go where life takes us to!
